The Challenge
Our client created an algorithm that identifies with a high level of accuracy what patients who had spine surgery will deal with disc reherniation. The client needed a custom data-based solution that securely and accurately analyzes three years’ worth of anonymized Medicare claims data to determine the market demographics for the target patient cohort and the top facilities that perform this specific type of surgery.
The Solution
We developed a unified view of our client’s data through a customized Power BI dashboard that also enables them to monitor quality indicators of the top facilities that perform fusion and microdiscectomy surgery.
Our solution clearly shows critical data, making it more accessible to key decision-makers, enabling it to be managed efficiently, and amplifying the algorithm’s accuracy.

Our data strategy allows all the gathered anonymized data to be centralized in a single dashboard that offers enhanced visibility.
We identified the analytical needs, potential obstacles, and data dependency to develop a cohesive data strategy in alignment with the business rules and requirements. Our client was able to use our research to apply for additional grant funding and to raise money for their startup.

Additionally our client has insight into the top providers and facilities who perform the relevant surgeries. This data will allow for additional avenues of inquiry and eventually will seed a marketing organization.
